Variable voltage, variable wattage, and resistance (ohms) are some of the terminologies that tend to leave many people in confusion when considering buying a mod vape. While variable voltage, variable wattage, and ohms are different technologies used for controlling the power output of vaporizers, understanding these things can give you a perfect vaping experience.
Variable Versatile Batteries

What is Resistance (Ohms)
Resistance measures the opposition to the flow of current in an electronic device. The unit of resistance is Ohms. Electricity will flow more freely when the resistance of the e-cig is lowered. When it is increased, electricity flows slowly.
Using a lower resistance produces more vapors and quality flavors but reduces the battery life of the e-cig. On the other hand, a higher resistance does not drain the battery but produces fewer vapors.
What is mAh?
A milliampere-hour (mAh) is the amount of power that a battery can store. By checking the mAh of the battery, it is possible to know the durability of the e-cig battery. Batteries with large mAh last longer and are more durable than that with a lower mAh.
Using the mAh is also a good rule of thumb to check for battery size. Some people like a bigger battery
Ohms law states that the electric current flowing through a metallic conductor is directly proportional to the voltage and inversely proportional to its resistance.
Voltage is the multiplication of the current and the resistance. Hence to get current, the voltage will be divided by the resistance. To get the resistance, divide the voltage by the current. This is recommended for those who want to rebuild the atomizers in their vaping devices.
A vape device without a power source is useless. Battery capacities vary among e-cigs. Some have a battery with a lower mAh, and some have larger mAh. There are also vaporizers that use more than one battery to increase the efficiency of the e-cigarette and your overall vaping experience.
Wattage or watt is simply the measurement of the amount of power consumed by an electronic device.
The voltage measures the electric potential that flows between two points in a circuit, with one point having a higher charge compared to the other.
What Is Sub Ohming?
Sub ohming is vaping at a resistance that is lesser than 1 ohm. This gives an intense feeling and helps to produce thick vapors, but it can reduce battery power drastically. This often works best with mechanical mods with no electrical safety switch and highly recommended for experienced users. Doing this without accurate knowledge could lead to a battery explosion or damage.
